Learn the Process
I’m ready to start therapy, what’s next?
First, congratulations! If you are ready to begin your therapy journey, you will need to schedule a consultation. You can do so here at the top of the screen where it says, “contact us.”
What is a consultation?
A therapy consultation appointment is an initial meeting between you and the therapist to explore whether their services are a good fit for your needs. Typically, this type of appointment is 15 minutes long. During this appointment, you'll have the opportunity to discuss the challenges you're facing, what you're hoping to achieve through therapy, and any questions you may have about the process. The therapist will also explain their approach, what you can expect from sessions, and how therapy can be tailored to support your specific goals.
This consultation is a no-pressure, collaborative space where you can get a feel for the therapist's style and see if you’re comfortable working together. It's also a time for you to share any concerns or preferences so the therapist can better understand how to help you. Ultimately, the goal of a therapy consultation is to ensure that you feel supported and confident in moving forward with the therapeutic process.
What kinds of questions should I ask my therapist in the consultation?
Each person has different questions for a therapist. If you are looking for suggestions as to what to ask, you can find suggestions here
I finished my Consultation and I want to work with this therapist. What is next?
After the consultation, if both you and your therapist agree to move forward together, your therapist will send you intake paperwork through our secure platform, Simple Practice. This paperwork will include forms to help us better understand your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. Completing the intake forms allows us to begin tailoring the therapeutic process to your unique needs, ensuring that our work together starts with a clear foundation.
We will also collect and verify your insurance information and provide you with a clear breakdown of any costs upfront. Once everything is confirmed, we will schedule your first appointment, ensuring you're fully informed about what to expect both financially and in terms of your therapy plan.
